I obviously have an unhealthy attachments to the Captains of the Guard.
I mean clearly Gray is the best character in this book.
The chemistry between Harper and Rhen just doesn’t feel as strong...

Great quick and fun read. I love fairytale retelling and this one was a great Beauty and the Beast, break the curse one! I also loved that the heroine had a disability and how the author wrote about it. Harper is from our world, Washington, DC and is drawn into another world by magic. She struggles between finding a way home or helping the people she comes across. Finished it the same day the second book comes out, now I can’t wait to read it.

It was a little odd how little the romance really played a part in this beauty and the beast retelling. (I mean, obviously it was there, but not to the extent I had anticipated.) Still a well-told, engrossing story though.
