What Members Thought
Not quite as charming as Cinder, this book still has lots of fun twists and imaginings. For example, a boa constrictor performing a Heimlich maneuver. Kathy is charming and an excellent baker, but she does not want to marry the king. She loves the court Jester. Her parents are pushing her to accept the king's proposal. But will she?

So good. The story flowed extremely well and I really liked the vocabulary. Also loved the little bits of humour.

A thoroughly enjoyable journey. Magical, mysterious, and filled with sweet surprises, seeing the queen of hearts become all we know her to be was a fun ride that did not disappoint.
I will say the romance was my least favorite element in this book. It paled in comparison to everything else going on in the background. -1 Star for that

I really wish the story ended a different way, but I knew it couldn't. Really great origin story about the Queen of Hearts. I loved the romance between Cath and Jest and my heart broke for her when things did not go as planned. It's too bad this is a standalone because I would have loved a sequel.

Disappointing. Loves the Lunar series. This was just too painful to finish. No story line. She tried too hard to re-create Wonderland
