The books by Lizz Braswell are about Disney villains. Or the ones by Serena Valentino. They both die at the end or Everything Everything or Letters to the lost are books about death or grief.
The strange and beautiful sorrows of Ava Lavender or The color purple for favorite colour.
A wrinkle in time or the Outlander series are about timetravel.
Unhooked is about Peter Pan, so pirates assured.
The Phobos books by Dixen are set on Mars. Or The Martian. The color purple is about feminism.

Time Shifters First book in a really good series about a people who live among normal society but have the ability to shift through time or across distance. The rules of time travel are really well handled in this.

Could also count as true story.
I definitely recommend Six of Crows for villain main character (it also works for book involving a heist), They Both Die at the End for death or grief, and The Foxhole Court for sports. You could also read The Crucible since it's a play, or you could always just read Shakespeare.

I love these categories! So my suggestions for a book that is also a stage play/musical would War Horse, The Secret Garden, and Wicked. Love them all! Also, looks like you have some great suggestions for the death category but I'll throw my new book, Crossing the Line, into the mix.

- A book about death or grief - They Both Die at the End (I just read this and I agree with the others, it's devastating but so so good), Hold Still

I'm trying to complete the Popsugar Reading Challenge this year, but I just can't think of anything for most of the points. So I need some help to find good books that pass for one of the criterias below:
