I've really enjoyed the books I've read by Becky Albertalli and I am looking forward to reading her newest one coming out this year, Leah on the Off Beat. It was based off one of Simon's best friend in this book and she is a badass character we all got to know and love.
Simon, Nick and Leah have been best friends for along time and they share so many things except Simon is holding back a huge secret and that's that he is gay. It's not that they won't except him it's that he just doesn't want it t ...more

Sweet and funny coming of age story that is as refreshing for it's lack of major issues as it is sad that it bucks expectation of what you'd think a young gay man in Alabama would face.

This was a cute book. I think the writing may have been too cutesy, which kept me from really loving it. I'm interested in seeing how they spin the movie.
