What Members Thought
I enjoyed this book way more than I anticipated. Refreshingly, Matson did NOT follow the typical boy meets girl and they instantly fall in love pattern found in many YA contemporaries. Instead, themes of friendship and inner confidence and courage ran deep throughout the story. Overall 4/5 stars; this novel far exceeded my expectations!
It's true. You can fall in love with a book.

This book really blew me away! I found myself wishing there was more to read once I had finished the final page. She had just found Sloane, and I wanted to read more about the two of them together. I fell in love with the other characters as well; Frank, Dawn, and Collins. They made a great team.

I read this because the premise grabbed me . Not usually my kind of book, but I loved it. I really liked Emily. She's a good character, and the mystery about Sloan held my interest. And even though one major element of this book was predictable, I wouldn't have wanted it to turn out any differently. A couple of things towards the end felt a bit contrived, but definitely a solid 4.5 for me.

I love friendship stories, and this is a great one. There's the romantic relationship too, but the heart of the story is Emily finding herself after best friend Sloan leaves her alone for the summer. It's a great, fun story with thoughtful characters. I really enjoyed this book!
