This novel captured me the first time I read it, and on re-read I found it just as mesmerizing. The story is intricate and strange, almost inexplicable at times, but in the end everything makes sense; the cast of characters is fantastic and the relationships between them heartwarming; and the setting is mysterious and evocative. L'ho trovato un po' deludente, nonostante alla fine gli abbia dato un voto medio/alto. Il fatto è che Zafon sa scrivere e mi ha tenuta incollata alle pagine da un certo momento in poi, però non mi ha convinta del tutto la storia che in parte avevo capito prima della fine. Probabilmente partivo anche con aspettative troppo alte, dato che tutti lo davano per un capolavoro...bah. Per me è stata una piacevole lettura e nulla più.
