Mother Of All Vampire Stories
An excellent story! Love the way it's written. Reading about the plot through a first person view-point gives the book a thrilling suspense that would have been difficult to achieve otherwise.
But the ending... won't write any spoilers, but I expected it to be a firework ending and I simply got a sparkler.

Read it when I was 14 the first time to Led Zeppelin's Zoso album. Loved it then, and love it now. It is the epitome of vampire novel, as well as an interesting study of sexuality in Puritan Victorian England. Trust me, it's in there. A vampire is probably one of the most sensuous creatures ever dreamed. A vampire bites the necks of his victims and they appear to swoon. Definitely an interesting statement about Victorian England although the myth is much older. I would recommend this book to any
