A steamer makes its way deep into the jungles of the Congo. Aboard is Charles Marlow, a man who has seen this river before. As they head deeper into the unsettled land, away from their own civilization, the men sailing with Marlow show a growing unease. To break the tension, Marlow tells them of a past journey he took along this same route, and we then descend into a darker story.
