This was really a 3 1/2 stars for me. It was a good story, but lots of clichés! My problem is that I've read too many WWII novels in the past few years and didn't feel like reading some more death camp stuff. Kristin Hannah's chic-lit genre experience shines through a little too much, but I did enjoy the book for the most part. This is a wonderfully told story with characters whose depth and a traits make them come alive. Due to 2 minor yet obvious editing errors, I almost gave up on the book and am so glad I stuck with it. Hannah seems to have taken her writing to a new level with this book - I do hope she keeps going in this direction.
