I've noticed I have a lot less patience towards these kinds of books than I did when I was a child. Anne was incredibly annoying and her uniqueness was underlined a bit too much for my liking. ...more

Every year or so, I end up re-reading the Anne of Green Gables series. I'm not sure if I would recommend them to an adult for the first time, but I would give a high recommendation to young readers. And as delightful trip back to my childhood, I seem unable to resist these periodically.

The Anne of Green Gables book is particularly fun. LM Montgomery does a lovely job of both capturing the unfortunate mistakes of being a kid while also have a sweetness to childhood that was entertaining when I wa ...more
