What Members Thought
Anyone can betray anyone. What a phrase and what story. While Red Queen is not reinventing the wheel when it comes to medieval fantasy, the story told here was well done and entertaining. The characters could certainly do with some development, but for the most part I was with Mare Barrow as she struggled to fit in with this fantastical world she finds herself in. So, this book. It was pretty engrossing. I got very swept up in the story. I've seen friends who loved it and friends who've hated it on my feed here at GoodReads this past year. Liked it, and pace is good, but characters seemed a little too formulaic and the story fell a little flat near the end because of it. Didnt love it, but will probably read the next one.
