What Members Thought
Anyone can betray anyone. What a phrase and what story. While Red Queen is not reinventing the wheel when it comes to medieval fantasy, the story told here was well done and entertaining. The characters could certainly do with some development, but for the most part I was with Mare Barrow as she struggled to fit in with this fantastical world she finds herself in. So, this book. It was pretty engrossing. I got very swept up in the story. I've seen friends who loved it and friends who've hated it on my feed here at GoodReads this past year. A bit predictable. Held my attention, but the story was just ok to me. I will attempt at least the next one in the series.

Oh no, am I possibly outgrowing my enjoyment of dystopian YA?! 😭 I could hardly bring myself to care about any of it. I am so disappointed in myself.
