This is the story of an autistic English boy who finds a dead dog and decides he wants to figure out the mystery of who did it. Through his investigations the book explores this boy's unique way of thinking and the parents' ways of communicating with him. The book is short, funny, poignant and I think the author truly gives voice to the mind of an autistic person. ...more

3.5 stars. The narrator's perspective really makes this book. Seen through the eyes of a young autistic boy, the world is full of mysteries--not just the bizarre murder of a dog, but also the complexities of human relationships and ... well, everyday life. I thought that the premise might be a big too gimmicky for me at first, but it was surprisingly easy to acclimate to young Christopher's logic and way of processing the world. I liked this book. It was an interesting story told from the perspective of an "autistic" teenager in England.
