This is the story of an autistic English boy who finds a dead dog and decides he wants to figure out the mystery of who did it. Through his investigations the book explores this boy's unique way of thinking and the parents' ways of communicating with him. The book is short, funny, poignant and I think the author truly gives voice to the mind of an autistic person.

This was a really touching, quick read about a young man who has autism. The man decides to investigate the murder of a local dog and in doing so uncovers much more than he bargained for.
I thought the author did a fantastic job of communicating the struggle to communicate with the world that many autistic people face. I am puzzled as to why the reviewers quoted on the cover of the book described it as funny. I didn't find it funny at all. Christopher didn't laugh in the book or think things were funny. Well, excepting the one joke that he gave as one of the few jokes that he enjoyed. I did find it extremely well-written and memorable, however. An excellent portrayal of an unusual mind.
