Great opening to this series! There is so much amazing potential and I love how well defined this world is, as well as fantastic characters!

#1 in the Elemental Assassin paranormal series

What a great start to a new-to-me series! I'd rate it 4.5 stars, if I could. I liked Gin, the main character, which sounds odd since she's an assassin-for-hire. But she is definitely kick-ass, has her own code of ethics, and she gets the job done carefully and neatly. But when she's double-crossed by a client and set up to take the fall for a botched job, not to mention the fact that someone close to her is murdered, she vows revenge. Oddly enough, t ...more

Didn't hit the mark for me. I'm so disappointed. I really wanted to like the book and fall in love with the series. I think it was that there was too much violence, but it's not like I haven't read and enjoyed books with quite a bit of some type of violence in it. I just don't know. ...more
