What Members Thought

2.5 stars rounded up because it was still addictively readable. I found myself quite resistant to the idea of Archangels in a paranormal romance. Paranormal romance is not my favourite genre. I don't mind romance in my urban fantasy but this..I don't know how many times the female love interest called Raphael beautiful but it was too many. I'm also not fond of the vampire-oozing-sex-appeal idea. And the ending ....no.

I loved this story and was a little surprised to find out how much of a love story and romance it is. But I must say that I love it! LOL
Elena is a Guild Hunter (vampire hunter) and she falls prey, so to speak, to Raphael, the Archangel of New York. He hires Elena to hunt another archangel who has created carnage, killing people and leaving bodies all over the place.
In their world, it is the angels who hold the power. They co-exist with humans but it is the angels that create the vampires. It's ...more

I haven't read a male/female romance novel in a long time, and this was a treat. I loved how strong Elena was and how she didn't let Raphael push her around.
Angel's Blood was quite gruesome in its depictions of the murders. It was stomach churning devastation that made me cringe. However the story was great with ups and downs, and great world building.
The narration was excellent and a pleasure to listen to. I will definitely be seeking out the next in the series. ...more

I'm not a fan of the romance genre. I find it nauseating and boring AF. The same holds true for PNR's. To be honest the first half of this book found me wanting to write a hate letter to the author. If I had kept reading the word beautiful I was going to start taking hostages. Yeah I got it, Raphael was beautiful. He had a sculpted body, was successful as all get out, powerful beyond anyone's comprehension, and sported a huge schlong. It didn't take a Philadelphia Lawyer to comprehend that state

Angel, arch angel, seems to be the code word in the first half of this book. Ok so this is supposed to be an all powerfull being with wisdom and what not. I'm sorry to say but where is the knowlegde that comes with being an angel?
And with this lack of depth makes the story rather silly. The main character who is, on first sight rather kick ass (I love heroins like that), but than... (willing or unwilling) they suddenly swoon over a angel, no wait an arch angel. ...more
