I’ve upgraded on this reread from 4 to 5 stars. When I read this before I never really took to Barrons but now I’m on board! Tons of character development for Mac in this one.

I enjoyed this story. Mac is starting to learn that she can't really trust everyone who claims that they are here to help her. She is growing to bit of an adult and I love the rants with her and Barron. Those are just too funny but I think he may be the only one that is actually trying to help her. I can't wait to continue and find out what's to come between them and of course what Mac really learns about who she is. ...more

Definitely a plot improvement. Bloodfever is darker than its prequel. This installment contains more action, intrigue and mystery. Definitely more mystery.

But I still couldn’t reconcile myself with the writing style. The last 50 pages killed it for me. The first 2/ 3 of the book went so well but the last part was cumbersome. The incessant embellishment of phrases, use of metaphors and long philosophical thoughts, like MacKayla is having an inner poetical contest were tiresome. I don’t want to g ...more

This is where it starts to get really good. I love Barrons and Mac still drives me nuts with her untrusting of Barrons.

I really liked the story line for this book. Mac's character was more believeable and less whiny than in the first book. Barrons is still a pain, but I think he's funny. I can't wait to see what the author thinks of for the third book. ...more
