What Members Thought

It's an interesting world and the characters are slowly growing on me.

I liked the second book of the Fever series even more than the first one. Even though all the questions and the lack of answers are really frustrating. I can't believe I've managed to avoid spoilers for this series given its popularity, but I really have no idea what's going to happen next and I sure as hell have no idea who or what Barrons is. At this point the book could be absolutely terrible or boring, I would still continue reading just to find out more about Barrons.

Lately, it has been that most of the books I did not like very much. I didn't like the first book - Darkfever. Mac was too whiny and spoiled and I wanted to hit Barrons many many times. I didn't get the appeal of the whole series and Barrons in particular. But, one thing I had hoped was that Mac grows as an individual over the books. So I added the book to my TBR but bought it from library.

2012 Re-Read (11/7/12-11/8/12) - Still just as good as ever. I freaking love Barrons. I could probably read a book about him just walking around doing nothing. This is definitely the book where Mac turns a corner and starts becoming more Kick Ass.
When the last book in the Fever series came out, I decided I would read the first 4 before reading the new one so I could re-immerse myself in Moning’s world. It had been a long time since Dreamfever had come out and I knew that there was a lot that I ...more

MacKayla Lane is searching for an old evil book called the Sinsar Dubh but so are alot of other people. This is the reason Alina was murdered. Mac meets Dani, another sidheseer, at Trinity College. The Vampire Malluce' is believed to be dead but like Barrons's said until you see it for yourself don't believe it. V'lane takes Mac to Faery and she ends up staying a month there. Barrons and Mac become odd partners even share a steamy kiss. A new man piques Mac interest while a black spector haunts

#2 in the Fever Series and it took forever for me to finally read this. After reading this one, I am excited to continue the series and looking forward to what happens next for Mac. In this one, she is still coming to terms with everything that has been happening, trying to figure out who and/or what Jericho Barnes is, and what her special gifts are really all about.

Mac, the intrepid protagonist, is starting to find her way around Dublin and her newfound magical life. I'm somewhat reminded of the TV series 'Witchblade' but not for her character so much as Kenneth Irons. The 3rd book left it on a cliffhanger, so of course I'm going to have to read more to figure out how she gets out of this one (damnit).

This is exactly how I hoped book 2 would be like. I really enjoyed every second of this book. Still so many questions regarding certain characters, but still so much happened. Good thing I already have book 3 on hand :)

Enjoyed it, still can't stand Barrons though. But MacKayla is growing on me and both Dani and Christian seem to be interesting new characters I'm looking forward to learning more about.
