What Members Thought

this was a 3.5star effort. I guess I haven't caught the Fever yet. But I am trying so I will keep plowing through the series.
This story had more action than book 1, Darkfever, but we are still trying to get to the Dark lord and we are still trying to figure out the players in the game for the Sinsar Dubh. First who and what is Jerricho Barrons? Second, who and what is Mackayla Lane? Sure we know she is sidhe-seer, but what are her extra special powers. I feel like we have only seen the tip of th ...more

In all honesty I only read this book for a challenge. After the epic fail of the first book I wasn't interested in reading more. Lots of people rave about this series and the sexy Jerrico Barnes. Well I haven't seen much to rave about... nor have I seen much of the "sexy" Jerrico Barnes. (view spoiler)

Another fantastic book in this series but with yet another huge cliff-hanger. I'm just SO glad I don't have to wait for the next one to come out - Amazon takes all of about 60 seconds to deliver hehe.
I love the way Mac's character is developing, but I'm still puzzled as to who or what Barrons is. And what are Rowena's real intentions? And as for Fiona! Grrr - nasty nasty woman, leaving the window open and turning the lights out like that! Hope she gets her comeuppance one day!

I liked the second book of the Fever series even more than the first one. Even though all the questions and the lack of answers are really frustrating. I can't believe I've managed to avoid spoilers for this series given its popularity, but I really have no idea what's going to happen next and I sure as hell have no idea who or what Barrons is. At this point the book could be absolutely terrible or boring, I would still continue reading just to find out more about Barrons.

Lately, it has been that most of the books I did not like very much. I didn't like the first book - Darkfever. Mac was too whiny and spoiled and I wanted to hit Barrons many many times. I didn't get the appeal of the whole series and Barrons in particular. But, one thing I had hoped was that Mac grows as an individual over the books. So I added the book to my TBR but bought it from library.
Overall, I liked this book. I can see Mac's growth; there were enough twists to keep me hooked. I'm still ...more

2012 Re-Read (11/7/12-11/8/12) - Still just as good as ever. I freaking love Barrons. I could probably read a book about him just walking around doing nothing. This is definitely the book where Mac turns a corner and starts becoming more Kick Ass.
When the last book in the Fever series came out, I decided I would read the first 4 before reading the new one so I could re-immerse myself in Moning’s world. It had been a long time since Dreamfever had come out and I knew that there was a lot that I ...more

I've now finished the first 2 of these books in a relatively short time period. I can say that Mac is growing on me like many said she would--the fact that she isn't describing every outfit she puts on anymore is helping. But can someone please tell me that eventually I will find out that Barrons isn't a complete ass?

Mac, the intrepid protagonist, is starting to find her way around Dublin and her newfound magical life. I'm somewhat reminded of the TV series 'Witchblade' but not for her character so much as Kenneth Irons. The 3rd book left it on a cliffhanger, so of course I'm going to have to read more to figure out how she gets out of this one (damnit).

This is exactly how I hoped book 2 would be like. I really enjoyed every second of this book. Still so many questions regarding certain characters, but still so much happened. Good thing I already have book 3 on hand :)

Enjoyed it, still can't stand Barrons though. But MacKayla is growing on me and both Dani and Christian seem to be interesting new characters I'm looking forward to learning more about.
