Short Review:

I really should have gotten around to reading this sooner. It's from 2001 for goddess sake!

I connected to the MC, Melinda. I hated high school and had to deal with being one of the not so popular kids, and i felt like i could've written some of this myself!

There is some major triggers in this book thou, i didn't know about it in advance, so i was taken by surprise a little bit.

Overall, a good quick read :) ...more

well this book was just ok for me, i understand there are a lot of people who loved this book, but it really didn't do it for me.

this book is about a girl who was raped. she couldn't tell anyone, but her whole high school year was ruined because of it. all of her old friends hated her because she is the one who called the cops and ruined a party.

she will go thru school with bad grades, and trying to fit it. Also, she will do whatever she can to avoid the guy who did it. the only problem is that ...more

This book was such an emotional rollercoaster for me. At first we know something bad has happened, but we don't know what. Melinda is a social outcast in high school. She has no friends an she's being bullied. She has lost her voice. Slowly the story reveals itself. Such a good book! ...more

I listened to the audiobook. It took me a while to get adjusted to the reader but by in the end I thought she did a very good job. I found parts of the book to be more realistic than others. I enjoyed the story but will probably not reread this book.
