Yippee yet another unpopular opinion...
Okay, listen, I enjoyed the plot and loved the 80's pop culture references (though I wasn't born in the 80s I was almost brought up on 80s pop culture) but I couldn't connect with the characters, didn't really care for what was happening, and I did not like how disrespectful it was to Christianity in the first few pages of the beginning. It literally called Christianity bulls**t, like, why? Just, why? ...more

April 1st:
I watched the movie and the beginning was like the book but then it turned out to be not so much like the book. But there were som glimpses of the book, and I actually loved the movie. It has become like the shadowhunter tv-series and the books, I appreciate them for the different things they are. I loved how they translated the OAISIS to the movie screen and the graphics were incredible. Definitely a movie worth watching.

I read this in a rush since the movie is currently out in theaters, and my family wanted to see it but I refused to see it until I finished the book. So finally, at 2:45 AM, I finished this book. It was a rollercoaster. I liked the love story along with all the action. I also loved all the 80’s references. It was boring in the beginning, but once I hit page 100 I was hooked. I strongly recommend this book for someone who is looking for sci-fi with lots of action, and occasional love.

It took me a little longer than I expected to get into this, but after I did, I was hooked. After attempting to read this for over 2 years, I have finally done it. great book
