To be fair, I didn't finish this but I had read enough (100 pages). It's rambling and pretty gross--light misogyny, tinges of racism, general snottiness. I really love Rushdie's earlier books but it seems this book was where the tide turned for the worse.

DNF due to poor quality of my translation and of the ebook I have. I will probably look for it in English, at a later date.
