As a partial history of the Ottoman Empire's expansion into Eastern Europe and a study of the historical figure Vlad the Impaler, this book was pretty interesting; as a vampire tale though, it was LAME. And at over 600 pages, what a long, lame trip it was. ...more

I liked the idea of this book, but it was a colossal waste of time. It made me sad because I really thought I would disagree with all the bad reviews. Oh well, I was warned.
