If you can help it, save the last twenty pages of this book for a morning trip into work. There’s a beautiful echo that comes with reading about the end of this crazy night as the sky gets brighter outside your own window...
A super quick read, but not half as compelling as The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles. Murakami is still able to masterfully create a unique ambiance that I've never come across in other writers' work, but the dialogue felt stunted and the story didn't really draw me in. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with this book.
