I spent most of this book rating it a solid 3 stars. It was good, but not THAT good. To me the plot seemed predictable: similar conflict, similar "misunderstandings", similar "lies to protect". But then about 75% of the way through the book... the characters grew. They changed. They became bigger people, who struggled to learn from the past, to forgive.
