I've read some of this series but not in order. It was good to get background on how it all started and Gerritsen has the background to get the medical parts correct so it really feels authentic.

Cracking read of suspense and terror, including graphic description of dissection and emergency room procedures. Ms Gerritsen worked in an emergency room herself, so the description is authentic.

Entertaining thriller, which kept me pushing the "next page" button right to the end. Believable characters and medically accurate. I wouldn't hesitate to try another of Gerritson's books.
