Fabulous book. As I was reading this, I kept thinking that Fowler wrote a story where the events could have actually happened that way. I read Fowler's notes in the back of the book after I had finished the novel, and sure enough, she wrote that after reading all of the research out there, she tried to write the most plausible story possible. Fowler's writing style is top notch and her storytelling ability supreme. I found everything to be incredibly personal

Very well done book of historical fiction that "sees" things through the eyes of Zelda Fitzgerald. Thanks to Chris for being my audio reader in our car rides. ...more

I am a sucker for the Lost Generation. F. Scott Fitzgerald is among my favorites so it was fun to read some historical fiction about his wife, Zelda, who I also am a fan of. They are a Lost Generation for certain. I enjoyed The Paris Wife better but this was a fun and quick read.

I loved this book. A really great depiction of life at the time for many interesting, suffering, creative people. I would have liked a bit more factual validity (letters, poems, short stories) but for what it was (historical fiction) it was wonderfully done.

Loved it! Well researched, beautifully written, such a compelling life! If you have any interest in the Fitzgeralds, Hemingway, the 1920s, expatriates, read this book!
