A basic werewolf story, to which King doesn't really bring anything new, even if he always has interesting characters. Once again an American small town works great in a horror novel, and when King sinks his teeth into the small town life, it's executed in such a way that I always keep coming back to get a fix of that certain atmosphere. Outdated bigoted language aside, it has a good pace and I liked the ending. The monthly stories weren't too predictable and the lengths were varied.

Basically a novella consisting of short sections, one for each month, with illustrations. The town of Traker's Mills, Maine is being terrorized by a werewolf. Eventually the town accepts this and tries to stop it though only one resident knows the actual identity of the werewolf. The wolf attacks were scary. I think it would have been scarier if the story was expanded so readers had more connection to the victims. I liekd the illustrations but they didn't add a lot to the story for me.
