Within genre (horror), I'm giving this one 3 stars. But I'm having a bit of a problem with "genre" here. Fevre Dream is not so much a horror story, but an historical novel with vampires. It's a really good story, centering around two camps of vampires. One camp is led by a forward looking vampire of reason, while other camp is Old School, with teeth, blood, and fancy Anne Rice-like clothes.
