A few days ago I was about to go to the summer cottage without electronic devices, and because I didn't feel like reading anything from the pile I already had, I went to the library to see if there were more Elizabeth Peters's Amelia Peabody adventures. Apparently, the library hasn't acquired them in order (the horror!), so I have to buy the next one if I'm planning on reading it. Ellis Peters is quite good at misdirection - I was following the twists and turns for 95% of the book, anticipating them all, and then wham! the details at the end are so very different. Another enjoyable Cadfael.
