Well I read it though I'm not eager to read more of this series. I know a bit more about the Spanish Inquisition having forced myself to read the book, but not ready to increase that knowledge in any way. The author wants you to believe a 13 year old boy from a poor background has a huge vocabulary and talks quite eloquently which just doesn't fit.

I read this book while traveling through Spain and it was a wonderful companion. Captain Alatriste is trying to rescue a girl held captive in a convent, where some priests are up to no good.
