What Members Thought
I usually love this writer's work, especially his Captain Alatriste series. But this book had me skipping long pages filled with useless back stories and uninteresting history. I kept waiting for the story to move along, and we kept coming back to the same scenarios. There was so much build up for such a skimpy ending (an ending that I saw miles away).
I gave it 3 stars because I actually liked the surly main character and wanted better for him. ...more
