I think this was the book that convinced me to STOP reading Stephen King. I've heard he's gotten better, but I never went back to give him another chance.

Dennis Guilder tells the story of his friend Arnie a social outcast who falls in love with Christine, a car. Christine is sold to Arnie by an unpleasant man who soon dies. Christine is in tough shape but she soon begins being repaired at a very fast rate. A good creepy story by King. I love how King gets you invested in the characters. I really felt for Arnie even when he was acting like a jerk.
King demonstrates he can find novel ways of creating horror stories. Christine, the rebuilt car demonstrate this ably.
