I'm glad I knew this was Science Fiction before I started reading because it sounded so realistic and was so unsettling but I could keep reminding myself it was just the fertile mind of Michael Crichton at work.

A satellite sent to collect samples of life from the fringes of Earth's atmosphere lands in a remote part of Arizona and most of the town dies strangely. This leads to the Wildfire Team being called in to isolate and determine the cause of the deaths. The book had a lot of scientific detail, some of which is pretty dated since it's from the late 1960's. This one was alright - I read it very quickly - but it's been a month or so since I read it and I can't really remember what it's about. It's a very fast-paced read, so if you like action and excitement, you'll love this book. It's also interesting that what they considered cutting-edge technology in this book is now fairly commonplace, because the book is older. A decent enough read, but not memorable.
