I really wanted to like this book, but I really don't. I just don't like chick lit. The heroine is ridiculously shallow - she almost completely lost me in the first few chapters because she was so concerned with superficial crap like what kind of shoes she had on. And okay it got a little better, but it also makes me so angry - the heroine is consistently a shallow superficial nitwit, who seems to have confused stubbornness with "charmingly spunky" - and this is how so many chick lit books go. Comparable to the Southern Vampire novels by Charlaine Harris in the overall feel of the story.

i picked this book in an airport that did not have a bookstore with a huge selection of books. i have to say that i was laughing so hard, and with the exception of the ending, i enjoyed it so much that i had to pick up the rest in the series. what's not to love, an indestructible vampire queen, who's a ditz and doesn't fit the image of a vampire queen, and has a shoe fetish? i am still laughing about it while i am writing this review.
