I've been wanting to read this for awhile now. I love this author and her book Ask My Passengers is one of my favorites. Everybody Sees the Ants is about bullying and Lucky is harassed daily by his tormentor Nader. There is a POW/MIA thread in the book as Lucky's grandpa Harry is still missing from Vietnam and Lucky escapes through his dreams to visit him. A.S. King is a really good YA writer. I enjoyed Please Ignore Vera Dietz (which won the Printz Honor); Everybody Sees the Ants is just as good, if a little weirder.
Lucky Linderman is a believable, compelling character, an everyman trapped in a 15-year-old body. Friendless and often a target of bullying by a particular jerk at school, Lucky tries to turn to his parents for help, but all they do is deflect the issue.
