I loved this book. After having read The Road and now this other book by McCarthy, I have to say that this man is a genius. His commentary on how America has quickly become out of control and much more violent over the last few decades provides one element of the foundation of the insight into the Sheriff, who is the central character of the book. The first half of the book is exactly like the movie, but it takes a turn about midway through. McCarthy's stark, blunt writing style drew me in immediately.
