Bittersweet poignant story. You really feel like a child of the South.

If a book is written from a child's point of view, I tend to skip it. That was the reason why I was putting this off, even though I was interested in the topic and liked the fact that it was set in the South in the 1930s. I also wanted to see why this is considered as one of the greatest American novels of all time. I really loved this book. There was just so much to it and lots of things to think about. I thook a long time to read it, but that's mostly because I stopped a lot to think of various paragraphs I just read, of their implications. The story is told from the perspective of a young girl, so there are some things she doesn't understand, which you can deduce if you think about it, which ads an extra dimension to the book.
