The plot twists kept me reading but the book could be shorter. I had a deja vu feeling when I got to the first reveal then I realized that I've seen the Korean film version, Handmaiden. Excellent movie, work of art.

I liked this one, a bit of a slower pace than I had expected and I had to put it down a few tunes due to interest and traveling. I enjoyed the setting and how exquisitely crafted both the story and setting were. Overall I liked it and will try another of hers.
With a Dickensian theme, the story of a young girl whose first occupation is as a pickpocket, Waters really does relationships beautifully and keeps you guessing every time she comes to a bump in the road.
