3,5 stars!
This is slightly better and more fun than Christie's other spy thrillers. The main character, Victoria, is likable and not too annoying, and even though romance is part of the plot, it doesn't feel too cloying.
What I always find a bit much in Christie's spy thrillers, is the exaggerated but vague ideas she had about "the new world", "utopian dream of young people", etc. Perhaps because the time of the writing was mostly during the Cold War, she was pretty adamant about the themes.

Agatha Christie spy genre book. Spunky Victoria Jones meets Edward by chance in London, but he is leaving to go to Baghdad. Smitten and certain of the chemistry between them, she follows him to Baghdad. She travels as a companion on a one-way ticket to Baghdad, arriving penniless and not knowing how to find Edward. She soon finds herself in the middle of intrigue and danger - and, of course, romance. A cute book with one of Christie's spunky heroines.
