One of the most absurd, fantastical stories from Agatha Christie. The twist at the end of the book is a bit too much, but somehow fits with the tone of this book. The Orient Express in the midst of snow, the mysterious murder, the unreliable characters and testimonies, and of course- the grand Hercule Poirot. Everything fits nicely in the end, and even though the ending and Poirot's decision are a bit uncharacteristic, I still think this is one of the best of Dame Agatha. Oh, and the movie adapt

After re-visiting a couple of my favorite Christie mysteries over the past couple of months, I've noticed that my favorite stories are those that are less formulaic. Don't get me wrong, I tend to like most novels and Christie is the only author that I go back to when I need cozy entertainment with a dash of murder, but some stories have that special something that makes them stand out from the crowd.

A quaint, old time-y murder mystery. Totally unsolvable but fun and well-written. This genre isn't usually my go-to, but I enjoyed this, it reads quickly, and recommended for anyone who likes books that take them back in time.

A lovely mystery - a plot that you can't suss out pages in with an iconic detective. It's dated for sure (oh the way they talk about nationalities), but still good.

This is one of those books I've always heard about but never read so I decided to give it a go. It was entertaining although somewhat formulaic. I will say the ending surprised me more than I expected it to. However, if I'm going to read a classic British mystery novel, I think I prefer Sherlock Holmes.

This was still quite interesting the second time round but I found the solution to the mystery improbable, to say the least.
