Not as good as Les Mis but great nevertheless. Though the passages about medieval Paris architecture may only interest those who adore the city or architecture in general. I personally loved the whole package. The characters are legendary and one of the best ever invented.

Ok, so I'm torn. I love Hugo's flowing plot, the way he described the settings and the characters (and the translator did a great job too!), but the main character, La Esmeralda, was kinda "meh" for me. The ending is totally different from the one in Disney's movie so prepare to be surprised! :)
