I enjoy his writing - this was my 2nd book by Theroux. If you love to travel and/or learn about other countries, read him!

2.5....Maybe I just had too high of hopes for it but I was kind of let down. The only character that wasn't flat was the father and while he was really quite unlikable I did like that he at least had some character, the others were boring and flat in my mind.

Was really excited about Theroux, will def. try some more of his stuff though before giving up on him.

So many times while reading this book, I would look up and be startled to find myself in my own house. Some books treat you like a spectator, some books draw you in, this one gobbled me up.
