What Members Thought
This book is charming (as you would hope from the English village setting), smart, witty, subtle, and sly. It states many truths about small towns (even still today) and about people and how strengths and weakness exist simultaneously. You'll enjoy the women (and very few men) of Cranford.

Pleasant read on audio. I am not a huge Gaskell fan, but I appreciate what she brought to English literature during a time when it male-dominated.
Cozy and Jane-Austeny. There's a leeetle bit of plot in the last third of the book, but mostly it's just vignettes. I enjoyed it for bedtime reading.
