I really wanted to love this book, but I ended up being on the fence over how much I enjoyed. I liked it for sure, but I didn't end over the moon about it. The story is about the female detective from the first book In the Woods, Cassie Maddox, and a case that she gets involved with because the person who was killed looks exactly like her. I liked the plot less than the others, but I love Cassie as a protagonist more than any other characters.

This thriller was hard to put down! Even while traveling, you could find me sneaking a few pages whenever I could! Beautiful prose, a bit unexpected in such a page-turner if a mystery. I can’t wait to read French’s next installment in the series.
