I was surprised and saddened to find, in this and another of Christie's early books, signs of antisemitism. I haven't read Christie since I was a kid, so I'm not sure if this is typical of the body of her work--I hope that as she matured, her attitude changed.

One of my faves, and even stronger coming after the Hallmark-ish previous book. I like re-reading this to look for easter eggs, knowing the ending.

This was excellent, it was so surprisingly funny! And while I was spoiled a little bit for the plot (hard to avoid, with a book that has been around for so long), and so I had many correct suspicions, I did not know for sure who murdered Roger Ackroyd, and I did not figure it out until "the little Belgian" Hercule Poirot explained all.

Very entertaining, light reading. I read it while working on a paper, 20 pages at a time. It was a perfect distraction.
