What Members Thought

I'm shocked that so many people are still discovering Maus - surely everyone already knew about it, how good it is and that graphic novels can be serious literature. Maybe we should blame bookstores that slide the goodies between the superhero comics.
Anyhow, I've read Maus over and over almost every year for a decade or so. Should be on everyone's reading list. ...more

This is a re-read for me. Maus I is the greatest graphic novel ever written. It won the Pulitzer Prize in 1992 and set the standard for future graphic novels. This book is amazing and reading it a second time was even better than the first. Art Spiegelman is a master storyteller and artist. If you haven't read this you need to get a copy and read it right away.

I've wanted to read this book for a long time, but the comic format held no interest for me. I am so glad I read this. I look forward to the 2nd book.
