Interesting book about the return of slaves to Africa following their exodus from America to Nova Scotia after the American Revolution. The book is well-researched, well-written and horrifying, but what makes it unique, is that it tells the reader a part of the history of which most people aren't aware.

Aminata is 11, she has just seen things that no 11 year old should see. She is then chained, stripped, and forced to walk for 3 months to an awaiting ship bound for America. She now has to learn how to survive.

Amazing story and execution. Lawrence Hill is highly successful at writing a believable story from a girl/woman's point of view. This book is excellent.
