What Members Thought
I give Woolf's writing 5 stars, but the lack of plot 3 stars, which leads to my 4-star rating.
I enjoyed the second part of the book about how a house feels once abandoned. This part of the book really resonated with me because when a house is unlived in, I can visually see how it looks unloved and can almost hear it saying "buy me, buy me". As for the rest of the book, I get what Woolf was trying to do here. It just didn't really interest me very much. I'll stick with finishing Proust's 7 volum ...more

Despite my efforts to want to enjoy this one I failed miserably. Perhaps Woolf is too smart for my poor mind to understand. I read the entire book but understood almost nothing.
