3.5 stars from me! But I rounded it to 4 stars because I quite enjoyed reading this book.
It's a page turner indeed, with unreliable narrator, vague timeline, unsolved murder and mysterious murderer. The setting of mental hospital is also intriguing, with many interesting characters involved.
I don't complain about the twist, it's pretty decent, but the ending is a bit rushing in my opinion. Michaelides can explore more about the unclear details mentioned by some of the characters, but he jumped ...more

4.5 stars rounded up to 5. Fast-paced, creepy, shocking, well-written. I actually am impressed by the author’s ability to talk about psychotherapy in an informed and believable way. While there were frustrating elements and things I wanted more resolution regarding, the whole story had such a hazy, intoxicating tone that I'm not overly bothered.
