Another in the series featuring Mary "Harry" Haristeen, her cat Mrs. Murphy, and her dog Tucker, this story has them solving the murder of a jockey following a very important race held at the former home of James and Dolly Madison. There are lots of suspects and lots of clues, and in solving this mystery, the intrepid trio also solves an earlier murder that had remained unsolved for years.
